Our Team


Dr. Denise Vadala-Barbour, DVM

Dr. Barbour is a full-time Veterinarian and is also the owner of Crepe Myrtle Animal Hospital. She graduated from NC State's Vet School in 1994 and has been practicing ever since. 


Dr. Matthew McIntyre, DVM

Dr. McIntyre is a full-time veterinarian and recent graduate from NC State's Vet School. His special interests include soft tissue surgery, nutrition, and feline medicine.


Dr. Martina Midkiff, DVM

Dr. Midkiff is a part-time veterinarian, here at Crepe Myrtle. When she is not working here in the office, she is running her own mobile practice, Tender Touch.

Gail, Office Manager

Gail is one of our longest-employed staff members and is our wonderful office manager. She has been with the practice since 2008. When not working at CMAH, Gail enjoys spending time with her family and working on her craft business.

Mickey, Practice Manager


 Mickey is married to Dr. Barbour and is the Practice Manager for Crepe Myrtle. He is responsible for the financial aspect of the hospital and is the go-to handyman! 

Elizabeth, Veterinary Assistant


Elizabeth has been working with us since October of 2017. Her passion for animals began at a very young age where she worked with her father training police dogs. She has a special place in her heart for puppies!

Jennifer, Veterinary Assistant

Jennifer has been working at Crepe Myrtle since June, 2018. She has worked in the animal care field for some time now, and has two dogs and a kitty.

Candace, Veterinary Assistant


Candace has been a staff member with us since August, 2018. She is a part-time veterinary assistant and a college student, currently attending Wake Tech Community College.

Erin, Veterinary Assistant


Erin began working at Crepe Myrtle during the summer of 2018, and then took a few months off to finish college. Upon graduating from Appalachian State University, she returned to C.M.A.H., and hopes to go to Vet School in the future.
